Like many people here, I had hoped to meet Kevin in person one day. I got to know him through the Brit thread, where his humor and intelligence helped me transition to life in the UK. His insights and empathy helped me feel more comfortable during a difficult time. I always looked forward to what he had to say. When he said he was going to be in the hospital for several days, I messaged him to tell him to contact me if he wanted to pass the time. I told him that my mom was coming for a visit but that I’d be around if he wanted to chat. He thanked me and told me to enjoy the visit with my mom. Even though he was ill, he took the time to be gracious and thoughtful. With so many of us feeling his loss over great distances, I can only imagine how those closest to him feel right now. My deepest sympathies to Kathy and to Kevin’s family.
