I run TrekBBS and Kevin (I still think of his as Bob due to his board name) was a model poster. The word that best described him was "kind." I never saw him say a mean thing, even in the place where free speech is allowed. He wasn't only kind, but sharp and funny. In that free speech forum, he was my absolutely favorite poster. I enjoyed his comments in the thread about British politics. Once, during a difficult time for me running the place, he said something to Kathy about it, and when she told me, I didn't feel so alone or disliked. He really was one heck of a supportive guy. I was so happy for Kathy (my friend) when they began dating and eventually married. Two of the kindest people I have ever known found each other. Today's the first day I can come to the board without tears. He will be so very missed by us all. I'm very grateful that he brought his light to our little corner of Trekdom and to Kathy. I was hoping to meet him next trip to England and it's a loss for me that I won't get to do so. Rest in peace, Kev. You were like that guy in It's a Wonderful Life; modest, unassuming, but a wonderful person and one that made a difference in so many people's lives without you realizing it. If I had a board full of posters like him, I could retire and just sit back and watch. Truly a wonderful man. I'm so sorry for your loss, Kath, and to his parents for your loss. But be consoled that in his too-short life, he made an impact.
